I. Fermenter Vessel (10L–500L, Customizable Volume)

1.1 Total volume: 10–500 L; filling factor ≥70%.

1.2 Vessel material: 316L stainless steel body, 304 stainless steel jacket with internal baffles.

1.3 Vessel aspect ratio (D:H) ≤ 1:2.5.

1.4 Surface finish: internal surface polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm, external brushed finish.

1.5 Pressure design: body/jacket design pressure 0.3/0.4 MPa.

1.6 Top plate ports (minimum): 1 inoculation port; 1 feed inlet; 1 exhaust port; 1 pressure sensor port; 1 antifoam electrode port; 1 stirrer port + 1 spare port; 4 feed ports (4-valve manifold).

II. Stirring System

2.1 Automatic lifting device, AC motor-driven shaft seal, 316L stainless steel agitator shaft.

2.2 Minimum 2 layers of 6-blade flat disc turbines + 1 layer of 4-pitch blade impeller.

2.3 Minimum 1 layer of mechanical foam breaker, height-adjustable, speed range ≥ 50–1000 rpm ±5 (customized per volume), capable of sustained high-speed operation.

III. Temperature Control

3.1 Electric heating with circulating water cooling. Features automatic air venting, water-failure and over-temperature protection. Intelligent PID control for rapid response and energy efficiency.

3.2 Fermentation temperature control range: cooling water temp +5°C to 65°C, accuracy ≤ 0.2°C, resolution ≤ 0.1°C.

IV. Aeration Control

4.1 System includes 2-channel rotameter (air / O₂), 1-stage sterile air filter (0.01 μm). Rotameter + mass flow controller + control valve for automatic flow regulation, range 0–2 VVM.

V. pH Control

5.1 Intelligent PID control with electrode and shielded cable detection. 2 variable-speed peristaltic pumps. pH can be linked with feeding for automatic control and metering.

5.2 Electrode reusable for autoclave sterilization. Calibration fully performed by system software. One spare electrode set included.

5.3 Display range: 0.00–14.00, accuracy ≤ 0.01. Automatic control range: 2.00–12.00, accuracy ≤ 0.05.

VI. Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Control

6.1 Online DO electrode detection. DO can be linked with stirring speed, aeration, feeding and other parameters for cascade control.

6.2 Measurement range: 0–150%, accuracy ≤ 3%, resolution ≤ 0.1%.

6.3 Calibration fully performed by system software.

VII. Foam Control

7.1 Peristaltic pump for automatic addition. Automatic foam detection with variable-speed peristaltic pump and pneumatic diaphragm valve for automatic antifoam dosing. Sensitivity: 100–100,000 Ω.

VIII. Feed Control

8.1 Variable-speed peristaltic pump control. 4 channels of programmable, flip-cover type stepless variable-speed peristaltic pumps.

8.2 Feeding accuracy ≤ 0.02 mL/rev.

8.3 Feeding range: 0.02 mL/min – 340 mL/min.

8.4 Feeding modes: constant-rate, exponential (specific growth rate equation control), linear, sequential, pH-linked, DO-linked, etc.

IX. Exhaust Gas System

9.1 Equipped with exhaust gas condensation system and filter system.

X. Automation System Configuration (Optional)

10.1 Automated sterilization control system: program-controlled, one-touch settings, automatic sterilization. Steam main line equipped with 5 μm pre-filter and pressure reducing valve (range 0–0.4 MPa).

10.2 Automatic air flow detection and control: mass flow meter for inlet air measurement.

10.3 Automatic vessel pressure control: pressure sensor + proportional control valve for exhaust pressure regulation, range 0–0.3 MPa.

XI. RY-HITECH Control System

11.1 Centralized controller with GMP-compliant software for process control and display. Includes on-site 304 SS control cabinet, PLC system, switching power supply, relays, sensors and actuators. HMI uses ≥ 11-inch industrial all-in-one touch panel.

11.2 Control and display parameters include (but not limited to): Temperature, Stirring, pH, DO, Feed, Aeration, Pressure, Broth volume, Cell density, Feed weight, Exhaust O₂ & CO₂, CER, OUR, KLa, RQ.
